So, you'd have to organise that third computer such that you can both remotely access it to start the server when you want it, and be able to close the server down when not in use, to prevent any lag issues building up from full memory or piling up enemy camps or any of the other things that happen when the game is idling a long time. The extra complication that adds (aside from having access to the third computer to do it, hahah!) is that the game is not designed to run 24/7 without a break. The game puts inactive players' towns into "idle mode" when that player isn't on, so you won't have to worry about anything happening to your citizens while you're offline. You would basically have one "idle" player (the server host computer), and you two each playing normally then you can just keep that third computer running the game for whenever one of you wants to play. If you can't always play together and want to both be able to play while the other is offline, your best bet is to set up a dedicated server using a third computer. So if your friend sends the save file they just created, it will always be their save. the computer that is running the game will create the save. Save games are always saved locally, i.e.
